Effective September 18, 2026

The Mac edition is a paid beta for Apple silicon Macs. The signed and notarized app includes Codex Vault and Mac-to-Mac migration. Selected-thread Vault recovery has passed a physical two-Mac test; migration has passed VoiceOver, a real macOS permission-denial check, and physical Wi-Fi interruption/resume testing. Retention controls, cloud-folder health monitoring, broader Codex-version coverage, guided permission recovery, direct-cable interruption, pristine-Mac installation, and broader hardware coverage remain ongoing. Keep your old Mac and an independent backup.

Seller and independence

Segeren Studio offers Codex Migrate as an independent compatibility product. It is not made by, affiliated with, supported by, or endorsed by OpenAI. OpenAI and Codex are trademarks of their respective owner.

Founding Edition

The price is $49 USD one time for the downloadable Mac beta and best-effort maintainer support. No subscription. The current beta includes local conversation search and export, client-side encrypted versioned backups, optional daily backup, guarded conversation recovery, and Mac-to-Mac migration. Purchase provides the current beta download, not a promise that every configuration has been tested or that a future release will arrive on a specific date.

Best-effort support

We make a best-effort attempt to investigate and resolve issues. We aim to provide an initial response within a few business days, depending on availability, complexity, and the information provided. We handle requests case by case. This is a target, not a guaranteed service level: no response time, fix, resolution deadline, compatibility, or successful data recovery is guaranteed. Your refund rights and any rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.

Free software

The command-line Vault and migration engine is separately distributed under the MIT License in its public repository. Buying the Founding Edition is not required to access the engine, back up or migrate your own data, or receive its safety features.

Your responsibilities

• Review backup, recovery, and migration plans before applying them.
• Maintain an independent backup of irreplaceable data.
• Save the Vault recovery key securely; losing both it and the Mac Keychain key makes the encrypted backup unrecoverable.
• Use the software only on systems and data you are authorized to access.
• Protect SSH keys, account credentials, recovery keys, and local access.

Alpha and beta risk

Pre-release software may contain defects and may not support every Mac, Codex version, transcript layout, workspace layout, cloud-sync folder, or network configuration. Backup, recovery, and migration tooling can affect important local data. Follow the documented planning, backup, recovery, and verification procedures.

Refunds

The refund policy is part of these terms and allows refunds within 30 days of purchase.

Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the software and pre-release materials are provided “as is,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Segeren Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages. Total liability for the paid offering will not exceed the amount you paid. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms for future purchases. The terms shown at the time of purchase govern that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws applicable to Segeren Studio’s place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
